Real quick question. What seems to be a better type of dvd media the plus R or minus R?? I dont really care about speed, just reliability. Thanks.

I just get whats cheaper. Usually its -r, legacy cake 50k 4xDVD-r's are only $16 at newegg.com. They show up with a sony media ID and work great with my pioneer 108 burner.

Yeah I was looking around AnandTech and they actually had a really good review on it. -R is better for standalone and is genearally more accepted, and cheaper. Thanks for the help.

I use both ,besides you can use "booktype"(bitsetting) to change DVD+ discs,

When the booktype field (bitsetting) is changed to DVD-ROM then DVD players are fooled and will think the user has put in a DVD-ROM disc instead of a DVD+R disc and will read it accordingly. This results in an increased chance that the player is able to read the disc and that?s why the ability to change the booktype field (bitsetting) is essential to a lot of users.

-R is better for video for sure.

+R I like more for data, just because the media is usually higher rated for speed.
