I need something that can do 5X DL ? or 16x at least SL for my Toshiba 5x DL drive. anyone have have that 5X DL Drive? pretty new SD-R5372.

Anyone know if Memorex dvd-r's are any good? Picked these up today because I've always had good luck with their cd-rs, probably should have done some research on their dvds before buying :disgust:

I barely see 2.4X DL around and those go for $10 a disc.

I have the memorex DVD+R's at staples (20 bucks for 50 might wanna add that) and they are Ritek discs. They burn at 8x in my 2500a (I had to do a firmware update before though, 1.6->1.9).

They have the memorex on sale for 19.98 for a 50 pack...go to a certain large wallet size website for a 15 off 75 printable coupon...to get a good deal

4 x 19.98= 79.92-15=64.92 pre tax

works out to about .32 each...

CMC Mag is not too good...personally my burns have been good but you definately can't burn above the rated speed if that's what you're looking for

You need to scroll down to see the rebate info (good through 2/26). My last batch of these were "RICOHJPN-R01-02" which have worked out better for me than the "G04" -R media.

if you want good media, only buy media that are made in Japan. most likely, you will get yuden, ricojpn, mcc, ttg, fuji,mxl

those are good media. They will give you a lower PI level <30 average = good to me

bamboozled, the TDK should be good enough to backup PS2 games
IME, certain CMC MAG are good (Memorex 2.4X & TDK 8X).
Ritek/Ridata is not good enough for PS2 (G03/G04)
