DVD insert paper?

I'm going to make some custom dvd cover art for some of the old VHS videos that I put onto DVDs... anyone know if there is some good paper to print the inserts out on to make them look nice? I've seen lots of options out there(glossy, matte, etc) but I'm curious if anyone has some experience with what looks good.

Thanks!

Get the epson strylus r200 or r300.

These printers are the bomb... Cheap ink, prints directly on to a DVD or CD (no need for lables).

Go check it out!

I use a program called cover cd xp. It's a great program. Prints to dvd size, all you do is drag and drop. I have experimented with a lot of dif paper. Glossy is nice, but I have come to find out that it really doesn't matter once it's behind the clear plastic of the dvd case. I just use reg paper now, IMO glossy is a waste for dvd cover art.

Well, I already have a printer and dvd cases, I just want the paper! 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion though.

So reg paper and then cut it out? A14 is regular?

Yup, you just cut the tabs. Again it will depend what program you use. Paper wise though, doesn't matter if you use glossy or not. You can experiment, but you'll notice that after you place it behind the plastic you cant even tell if it's glossy or reg.

Because the paper is larger than a dvd insert... there are white edges you gotta cut off around the cover art
