DVD Freeze

Just got the 16x Pioneer DVD from Mwave. Installed PowerDVD and watched Gladiator, great picture with no problems. Popped in Braveheart and after about 45 minutes the picture froze w sound looping. Had to do a hard reboot. Did the same thing twice more on the same movie, different parts. I am running Win2k, SP2 beta, Via 4.29 finals, Nvidia 7.52, Visiontec Geforce 2 GTS, Duron 700 not overclocked, Soundblaster Live w/o Liveware. Ideas?

That sucks. Braveheart rocks. Well, have you played this DVD before on anything else? Hate to suggest it but you might want to find a "friend" you "Kinda" like and try it at their computer (wouldn't want to kill a friends comp.) Might also try to skip to the same scene and see if it locks again. I would think that since you could play the one dvd your problem isn't on your end, might be the DVD disk itself.

Oh, check the driver versions to see if you have the latest and also check with Pioneer for the latest firmware on the drive. I had some problems with my Yamaha Lightspeed that were solved by a firmware update. LUCK!!!
