On a recent trip my wife's suitcase was lost along with 8 of our favorite DVDs. My sweet little grand daughter scratched up two more this morning and that was the last straw.

I have my old copy of DVD Xcopy 123 Gold to make backup or archive copies but it does not support dual layer discs. DVD Decrypter has apparently been taken off the market.

Does anyone know of a good DVD duplication program/utility that handles encrypted DVDs and supports dual layer discs?

dvddecryptor and dvd shruink... ive used decryptor and have yet to see anything it cant copy, thers a new piece of software called anydvd 15 day trial, havent used it yet... dl i have a few iso's that are too big to fit on a single layer disk, but i havent tried any dl media yet... i usually end up re-authoring my dvd's just putting the main movie file on the dvd image that way there is usually no need to compress the miovie file.

DVD Shrink, DVD Decrypter, and Nero. Love is all you need.

another option is:

AnyDVD
with
CloneDVD2

very easy to use together

edit:
free downloadable 21 day trial periods for both

I have used these progs successfully for most of our Disney DVDs since my son destroys the originals.

in most cases dvdshrink will get the job done (if the compression is above 100%, try the "reauthor" button, then simply drag the "main movie" over to the other column. this is main movie mode so extras are cut, but you do get all subs and languages unless you cut those too.)

the successor to dvd decryptor so far is dvd fab decryptor:

use it if dvd shrink doesn't rip it correctly (only happend to me once or twice)
