how are the afree dvd drives
or the Lite ON dvd drives?

mainly looking for clonecd compatibility and speed.

I have a Lite-On 16X DVD and I'm not very impressed with it. The transfer rate is good but it has to slow down whenever it is seeking. It is also pretty loud. Though given the alternative I would get the Lite-On. I really don't like Afreey.

I'm not limited on what I am lookin for...

I just want a good cheap one er, a good one that is also cheap.

i read a review on the lite on that it's good with clonecd.

basically I want a dvd drive to replace my old crappy cdrom and would like to make sure its good with clonecd.

Right now, the price difference between a crappy DVD drive and a decent DVD drive doesn't justify getting cheap drives.

For example (pricewatch prices given):
16x Lite-On $48
16x Sony $50
16x Pionner Slot $63

Cheap 16x DVD drives are usually around $40... not worth it.
