DVD drive won't read discs

I just finished building my computer and everything was working fine until just the other day. Now it won't read any discs. DVD's, CD's, it doesn't matter. Vista will recognize the drive and the drive will spin up after I insert a disc, but nothing will happen (except the My Computer window will freeze if I try to access the drive too many times). I tried booting from the drive and that doesn't work either, leading me to believe it's a problem with the drive itself.

Don't know what info would help, but the drive is a Lite-On LH-20A1S. Thanks.

do you have any other computers in the house where you can swap it out and try that drive in the vista comp and the lite-on drive in the other?

It's probably dead, rma it for replacment. Electronics fail early if they're going to fail and thats a good thing.
