Ive installed a lite-on dvd drive, it manages to read DVD-ROMs ok... but when i put in a DVD movie, PowerDVD won't play it, even though i click on play.

My OS is Wondows 98 (2nd pc)

Any ideas?

. First make sure your mobo's latest chipset drivers are in place. If it is an nVidia mobo, uninstall the nForce IDE driver if it is installed and use M$ standard driver.
. Are there any trouble signs in Device Manager re. the optical drives or IDE controllers? If so, what does it say the problem is? Let's get anything there straightened out first. Then...
. Is that Win 98SE? If so, then go grab the Unoficcial Win 98SE ServicePack 2 CD (any search engine will find it quickly for downloading) and update your system. Also go to Adaptec and DL their ASPI layer software and install it. If one or more of those ideas don't clear up the problem, come back and we'll think on it some more.
