Welp, it seems my trusty Tosh died. I bought it two years ago from Compgeeks for $40. Alas, prices have skyrocketed at least 40% across the range since then. In my experience Compgeeks has been dependable and has reasonable shipping costs unlike most of the Pricewatch gang. Plus, they have the MasterCard ShopSmart discount of 10%. Sooo, perusing their selection I see they have a couple new 8x drives for $59 with 1 year warranties. Firstly, can I get anything similar for cheaper elsewhere (prolly $60 shipped) and if not, then which of the Raite and EPO drives are better? The Raite is listed as UDMA66 but both just show as EIDE on their homepages, while the EPO does come with an audio cable (woo woo!). Any advice would be mucho appreciated.
