Dvd-drive spits the discs out

When I put a disc into my dvd-drive it spits it right out after spinning it up and then down. It's a Pioneer 104 (10/40X).
It isn't a new problem though, began doing this in january but for some reason it helped removing the casing of the drive and put it on again. Have done this 5 times until now and helped each time but now it won't work at all. Any suggestions?

Maybe a loose internal ribbon cable in the drive, or a cracked circuit board. Ive seen quite a few drives with loose internal ribbon cables following shipping. There are usually 3 inside.

Never moved it, has sat in my computer in 2 years now. But you could be right, where are those cables so I can check 'em? And if they're loose can I fasten 'em again? The circuit board, that'd mean the drive is truly dead, but it worked for more than three months after the initial error when I took the casing off sometimes so the loose ribbon sound more probable.

There should be one to the circuit board, one on the drive motor, and one one the read head assembly. They have little locking tabs on each side of the little cables. I had one once that the metal strip of one "pin" of the cable was folded back when it was inserted at the factory. I straightened it out and the drive has worked flawlessly since. Mass production results in some little quirks like that.

Opened the drive again to look at the ribbon cables and there isn't any problems with them it seems. The circuit board look alright too.
So I tried the drive again and it works now! So just like before it helped to open the drive.
Still, there must be something wrong for the error to come in the first place but at least it works again for now.
