I need to buy a new DVD Drive & I can chose only from a Samsung SD-616B DVD Drive with 512 KB cache but no support for DVD+/+RW formats, or LG DVD Drive with support for DVD+R/+RW drivers but 256 KB cache, I can't go for a DVD writter

I need to know that will having 256 KB cahce affect CD Ripping or DVD ripping for the LG, should I go for more cahce or more formats, as DVD+ formats are not found here rite now, I m in India

I don't think cache matters all that much in DVD readers. Go with the one that has better compatibility with burned media.

It used to matter with CD-writers, but new gen CD/DVD writers have some sort of buffer underrun protection that really cuts down on coasters (from buffer underruns, anyways).
