DVD drive related: How do I do this...or is it even possible?

I don't have a set-top DVD player so I have to use the DVD drive in the computer. I have it connected to the TV via my Radeon 64. I want to watch the DVD on my TV and not have the movie on the monitor so I can surf or whatever. Do I need to buy something else or just play around with some settings?

Am I revealing my lack of computer knowledge by asking this?
 
It's been a long time, but I did this with my Radeon VE, so I know it can be done. Specifically, what I did was to have a Windows Media Player minimized on my main desktop, but it would still show up on the TV out as full-screen. I can't remember exactly how I set it up, but it certainly is do-able in Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Displays. Try poking around in that tab until you find something that helps. Sorry I can't help you more. 🙁
