dvd drive rebooting my computer

Sometimes, when I load up a dvd into my dvd drive, i got that drive that was on hot deals for 199, it'll reboot the computer once it closes the tray and I can hear the disc spinning.

Anyone have any idea why it does that and how I can stop it?

If you are talking about the Optorite dual dvd burner it may be crashing your system.

If you have Windows XP the rebooting may mean you are having a BLUE SCREEN. XP has it itself set to reboot instead of presenting you with a blue screen.

I have had the optorite blue screen my computer 2x past 2 weeks. I am not sure if it is the software that came with it (B gold ,MY dvd).
I have since then uninstalled it and it has not happened again.

This happened when I inserted a unreadable dvd rw+ in the drive.

good luck

If it's not that, then the ps may not be up to rhe task of handling the added load from the dvd drive.

yeah, its the optodrive one...this is my first dvd drive so i haven't had much experience playing around with different programs...but I'll look into something else and see if its a software problem. Thank you guys for the input. =)
