Hey, Im having trouble with a Acer/Benq 1648a DvD Drive
I reformatted my hard drive and installed Windows XP Home Edtitons just fine from the DvD Drive.
But when I get into windows I get the DvD Drive Icon (not the thing like BF2 Icon the wee drive+cd standard windows icon) in My Computer but when I put a Disk in it speeds up in the drive and the My Computer Window dosen't respone.
Comp Specs are:
Windows XP Home SP2
AMD 3700+ 2.2GHZ
2x 512mb of Samsung RAM
X1800XT 512mb
Crative X-FI Fatal1ty
Foxconn/Windfast 6100 Series Motherboard
250gb Seagate Sata Drive
I have tried the 1.12 Firmware updates, Removing X-FI card, changing IDE slot etc
This drive works in 2 other PC's just not this one, other 2 PC's are Gigabyte Motherboards, Nividia GFX, AMD CPU one is XP Professional and other is Windows 98 1st Edition.
