Installed windows xp home tonight on my new computer and although my dvd rw drive was found in bios and sucessfully installed windows, it won't let any cds run now. I need to install my drivers for things and the dvd rewrite drive will show that it sees the contents but will not run any programs. I tried my included Asus cd, modem cd, and wireless router cd but I can't seem to get anything running without it beeping and saying that it is terminating because of an error. I can still use "open" and go through the contents but nothing will run.
The error message seems to be about whatever installshield type program the contents use. On the Asus cd, the one thing I could get off of there that I needed was the wireless drivers although they refuse to find my network. On a minor detail I thought I should mention but can't imagine being a problem is that based on how the drive installs on my Thermaltake Armor, the drive is at a very slight incline to the right so hopefully its not the drive refusing to cooperate because it feels it is off balance. Thanks in advance.
