DVD Drive not working after Vista SP1 x64 install

I have replaced the guts of my rig with a P6T WS Pro, i7 920, 6GB RAM and some new hard drives. The build came together nicely and is a lovely build but i am having a problems with my DVD burner.

Basically after installing SP1 for Vista x64, my DVD drive will not work. I get this error in device manager:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The drive is a NEC Optiarc DVD RW -AD-7170S which is what Vista detects it as.

The drive installed Vista absolutely fine with no read errors. The drive is also picked up by Windows before SP1 installation with no errors.

If i remove the device from device manager, Vista picks it back up and it works, but reading data from the CD's does not work very well and its incredibly slow.

I have also tried this fix but the installer says i don't need to run this fix and the manual reg fix does not work as the upper and lower filters do not exist in the relevant reg key.

Does anyone have any ideas that might help me before i go out and buy a replacement drive?

Thanks.

I installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager and it fixed my problems, two reboots later.
