When playing dvd's the dvd drive will spin up and then the movie will almost stop, then start again. I think it's a caching issue. The drive caches a certain amount to play and when that runs out it needs some more, and hangs the movie while it does. Quite annoying. Anything I can change in Windows XP, or do I have to get a new dvd-drive, this one is quite old. Thanks for the help.

You might as well go for the DVD-Burner. You can one for around $50 now. NEC ND-3500 or 3520 has been very good for me. Very good speeds for all media.

Sweet, thanks. I paid more than that for the drive. Man, those slot loads were cool. hehe. Thanks for you help man.
