dvd dma troubes

I just re-installed ME on my computer. however, i can't DMA turned on for my Pioneer dvd-115 drive. Thus, all my dvd's skip. I had it turned on before with ME and NT2000. If I check the DMA box, it gives me a warning that the drive or controller may not support DMA. After I check it and reboot, the DMA box is unchecked again. Any idea?!!
