DVD, Digital Cable Box, TV, so confused

Got a DVD player for Christmas.

Have old TV with coax cable input.

Have new Digital Cable Box working with old TV.

CURRENT SETUP:
WALL COAX --> DIGITAL CABLE BOX --> OLD TV (works)

WANT TO SET UP:
WALL COAX --> DIGITAL CABLE BOX --> DVD PLAYER --> OLD TV

This doesn't work because I can't plug my DVD Player (which only has S-Vido) into my TV

OR:
WALL COAX --> DVD PLAYER --> DIGITAL CABLE BOX --> OLD TV

This doesn't work because the wall coax won't plug into my DVD player.

What's a boy to do?

What makes is the DVD player? I'm surprise that the DVD doesn?t have an RG-59/6 input. Try hook everything up through an integrated amp.

The only DVD players that I have seen with a RG-59/6 (aka F-connector or RF out) output are the ones that are DVD/VCR combination units. He has two possible options:

1) Run the S-video & audio from the DVD player into the digital cable box inputs (some have them some don't)
2) Get an RF adapter and run it that way

Must be a pretty darn old TV not to have any composite inputs in it though and I'm very suprised that this DVD player does not have composite outs. Every single one I've seen has at least composite & S-video. Mine has composite, S-Video and component (progressive scan).

Stop wasting your money on seasonal computer parts and invest in a decent television, preferably HDTV. Newer TVs have all the ports you'll need, and then some.

if your tv has S-Video, you can just connect it that way. If not, buy an adapter from radioshack. My TV is like 5 years old and has S-Video and all those goodies.

Huh, I'm pretty sure our old JVC dvd player has RF outs. Otherwise, RFU is your only option and you'll need some sort of switch or combiner to feed both signals into the TV.
