Learn to use search. If you used the box at the top of the screen [ (in threads view) which searches just the current forum ] , or used advanced search and selected just tthe Software forum, more than half of the links are on DVD ripping and copying.

Again, learn to use search, rude person. There are very simple instructions in the post above.

i'm rude? i ask for a little help and instead of help i get lectured about how to use the search and a link to a web site that, if it does have the information i need, has it buried somewhere that will take me hours to find. i don't want or need to become an expert on the dvd format and it's many variants, i don't want to know how to convert any of 10 different formats to any other, i just want to know how to turn my dvd into an mpeg file. i think the rude person is you, who seems to know how to do this but takes pleasure from not answering. i thought the AT forums were all about helping each other, not torturing each other.

You don't think calling somone a "smart ass" is rude?

Did you even bother to try using search the right way, i.e. limiting it to this forum? I gave you two different ways to do this above, and told you you'd be rewarded with many threads on copying your DVDs.

I'm not trying to torture you by not pasting in 10 of the links from that search result, just trying to get you to learn one simple new skill that will help you get answers from these forums on your own.

You could have had all the information you need yesterday at 2:26 PM if you weren't (apparently) too stubborn to even try a proper search.

actually i do know how to search and i did use the search but didn't find anything that matched what i needed. i thought that by posting here some helpful person might be willing to assist me. silly me. this is what at has come to - a bunch of know-it-alls who are too superior to lend a hand to someone asking a reasonable question. no wonder i find the sight uninspiring these days. time to move on ...
