DVD Converter????

Im not 100% computer literate as some so here goes.

I have the program "DVD Decrypter" that lets me rip the DVD to my C: to a .iso extension. What I want to do is convert the file to something I can use on my JetAudio X5L (30GB) so I can watch "DVD's". I dont know exactly what formats the player can handle.

I assume I need a prgram that converts the '.iso' to a '.avi' 'mpg' or whatever it is suposed to be. Is there such a prgram? I'd prefer it free, but Im willign to pay..

I don't know what the latest programs are, but to convert a dvd to a smaller file people often rip the vob files off of a dvd and use the divx coded (divx.com) to compress it to a much smaller file size (w/.avi extension).

Gordianknot is a pretty helpful all in one program/guide that can do it. I'm not up on the latest tho - I used to use it to rip the vob's, and then use vidomi (vidomi.com) to do the actual compression with the divx codec. Vidomi hasn't been updated for atleast 2 years, altho its still effective.

Converting to a smaller file isnt really an issue as I dont plan to put allot of DVD's on it. Most movies are 4Gb i think?

MP3, OGG, WMA, ASF, FLAC, WAV

I was only able to find that it supposts these codecs, but for audio I cant find what it supposts as video. AAHHHHHHHHHHH! Im confused.

I see. I'm not familiar with that device at all. I recommend you edit the title of your thread to include the name of the device so those who know it can comment.

(btw, 'supports' is what you mean instead of 'supposts'. )


/Edit: The review says that it supports MPEG-4 video (ie divx), so I think you would still be compressing the file to divx.
