DVD Conversion

I ordered and received a choice jazz performance DVD that was made in Europe. It was recorded in PAL format. It would play OK on my computer, but not on my home entertainment system.

After researching the web, I found this jewel of a piece of freeware - called IFOEdit.exe.

Basically the procedure is to first run DVD Decrypt in file mode and put the entire DVD on your HDD.

Next, run IFOEdit and open each and every IFO file for that DVD. In each are a couple of format lines in parentheses. Change them from PAL to NTSC. Then save each one. Each IFO is done as a separate operation.

OK, then use DVD Shrink to create an ISO file from the edited copy. Lastly, burn a new DVD using that ISO.

My results were perfect - I did it for two PAL disks. Now they play in my NTSC big system. Just thought I would post it FYI - in case anyone else runs into that problem.
