i have a phillips dvd player hooked up to a 30" widescreen panasonic through component cables and im only getting blue colors....im sure its hooked up correctly i checked multiple times

i have a cable box also hooked up through comopent cables and it works excellent

ANy help why this would be happening?

Go into the menu on the dvd player and change the output to component.

I can't remember the exact menu layout, but pm me if you need more help and I'll get it.

You could also have mixed up the two red cables, with the audio cable going into the video and the video into the audio. Switch them.

assuming its the phillips dvp-642, go into the dvd setup menu (on the remote), go down to video, and change the video input from s-video to Y Pr Pb, or whatever.... It's in the setup menu somewhere, just look around till you find it. Had the same problem on mine and that fixed it.
