DVD compatibility question?

I have a Toshiba SD-3018 DVD and 30 or so DVDs. They all work fine. I received a gift of "The Perfect Storm" and it wouldn't play. I exchanged it 2 times, and all 3 wouldn't play. I contacted Warner Home Video and sent it to them and they sent me a new one and it wouldn't play. The DVD itself looks different than my other 30. The color of the data side is gold, the others are all silver. Is there a new format that has made my player obsolete? Did Warner get some inferior vendor? Any suggestions appreciated. BTW: It/they DO play in my Creative DVD on my computer.

Check the DVD it could be using the high density DVD disc. It should be written somewhere on the packaging and make sure the region code is 1.
