DVD/CD-rw not working

ok im thinking about sending this back in but if i can get some help that would b cool. i just ordered a rosewill DVD / CD-RW combo and i can install games and programs fine but i cannot play the gamesl. if any one has some advice i'd appreciate it.

What type of error did you get when you try to play the game? If you can install it, seems like the drive is working.

i agree. Can you install games anymore or does it not even do that now?
But if it can install the games i doubt that there is anything wring with the drive

well i can install them and the loading screen comes up but nothing happens... i've waited for a few minutes. i switched w/ my friends drive and it loaded up in a few seconds and it's older

There is a new copyright scheme out that will prevent games from running on rigs with burners. IIRC this is only for new games.

edit: UDI Soft or whatever they're called.

have you tried playing any dvds, or cds? it would be intresting to see if these work..
you might want to try to update drivers/firmware
