DVD/CD-RW Combo Drives Reliability???

Seeing alotta combo dvdrom/cdrw drives out there now... How are they performing??? Is vid qual just as good as a stand alone dvdrom???

I think I've had my Ricoh MP9120A for about 20 months now. It has given me no problems at all. Granted, having a standalone DVD player does give me many opportunities to play DVDs on my PC. :) I will only upgrade to some recordable DVD drive.

I also have a Ricoh MP9120A, since Jan 2001 and have never had a problem with it. Been very very happy. Like SUOrangeman i will upgrade to recordable DVD.

Well, on one hand it saves space inside your case (especially if you're on your last IDE device or 5.25 bay), but on the other hand, if it fails you lose more functionality than you would a single DVD or CD drive :eek: Of course, you can always get a replacement if it's still under warranty...

Really just a matter of preference I guess :)
