dvd case vs. cd case

Is there a reason to use dvd cases instead of cd cases for storing backups of my dvds? I noticed that the dvd case let the dvd move freely, where the cd case holds the dvd in place.

Is there a reason to use dvd cases?

Any suggestions?

The DVD case allows for more movement, but that movement is in much more free space. Though I've never had any problems with CD cases.

Also, the reason I ask is because I've got a crap load of cd cases... but would have to buy the dvd cases 😉

I prefer DVD cases because CD cases will crack easier...when there's kids ranging from 8yo to 13yo (and babysitting a 2yo), durability helps if someone finds my stuff...for the most part, I don't have to worry about it. But if I drop a DVD case, it won't break on me..😛

Unlesss I was trying to impress people with my scanned/printed DVD case covers for my copies, I'd just use those slim CD cases. They take up a lot less space. Also, some DVD cases you have to wrestle with just to get your damn movie out. I really hate that!

but I've got so many jewel cases... if they break, I'll replace them 😉

very true, I just bought 100 slim cases too... I guess I can just use those They probably are the best, but the bad thing is you can't see whats in it without pulling it out(where as a jewel case you are able to see it from the side 🙂
