Well I've had about enough of this, I gotta find a solution or yank out this Hollywood RealMagic. When I use the passthru cable, my disble dims dramatically. It gets a grey hue to it. I've made sure all the connections are tight and secure, several times. I hate to give up the dvd card because I have a wireless transmitter rig so I can send movies to any TV... and my vid card (asus v6800 pure) doesn't have svid out. The monitor in question is a Mag DX700T.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I suspect it's the less than stellar quality of the passthru cable, but I haven't found a place to buy a better quality one. Help me preserve my sanity. ;)

This is a very common complaint about the H+'s passthru cable. Just search for Hollywood Plus or passthru cable and you should be able to find all the previous discussions on this topic.

If you don't use your H+ card for monitor viewing of DVDs, then just remove the passthrough cable. The card works fine without it as long as you are using the newer drivers. That is how I am doing it. There is a 3-4 second pause when you start DVD Station (the card is trying to find the monitor), but that is the only problem you should have.
