Wrong forum perhaps?

Anyway, I have some Soprano episodes that are on my hard drive. They play fine on my computer using the vlc media player. I inserted a blank dvd-r and used Nero to burn. The burn apparently went fine. Gave it to my Mom to play in her dvd player but the player won't "recognize" the disk. Completely ruined Mother's day (just kidding).

Please enlighten me.

Arrrr. See you in a week, matey.

US seeks to criminalize 'attempted' piracy. You don't have to be good at it to be a criminal :p

Is your dvd structure correct? Do you have the VIDEO_TS folder in the root of the disc and your files inside of that directory? What format are the files on your hard drive? What, if any, conversions did you do to the files?
