I've got the two disc set of Chappelle's Show - Season 1 and I want to take the portions (sketches) of the show that I like and burn them to a single DVD. Currently, I have both DVDs with all .VOB files ripped to my HD.

(1) What do I use to extract just part of the .VOB files that I want?
(2) Once I've got the extracted videos I want, what can I use to make a DVD menu with all the sketches?

If I undersand correctly, what you need to do is convert the VOB's to Mpeg2 then reburn to a DVD, to do that you will need the following:

Programs needed:

VOB Edit
DVD2Avi
Besweet
TMPEnc
Womble..helpful but not necessary
Ulead or another Authoring Program

1 - {VOB edit} to extract the audio. Load the VOB into the program and demux all audio you will end up with an ac3 file

2- {BeSweet} to convert the ac3 to a .wav file for TMPGEnc

3- {DVD2AVI} to create a . d2v file

4 - {TMPGEnc} to convert all these file to a DVD compliant Mpeg 2 file using the wizard feature

5- {Womble} or another video editor to edit the parts you don't want...you can use TMPEnc to do this but I like Womble better.

6- If you need or want to merge the bit's and peices together you will need to merge them using TMPEnc

7 - Ulead or another DVD authoring program to create your new DVD's

If anoyne else know a shorter route...that would be great

You will find these programs and how to use them at DVDrhelp.com
