dvd burning issues

Well my new sata dvd burner stopped burning dvds & cds while running xp. It freezes up about after about 1 miniute every time I try to burn something and Ive tried 5 different burning programs all with the same result. Weird thing is that it works in ubuntu just fine. I have no problem burning 4gb iso's. Anyway I figured I'd post up to see if anyone might have some troubleshooting tips.

Without knowing your system specs......

Try burning at a slower speed. (ie. 8x --> 6x)

Uninstall all your burning softwares (along with their drivers completely) and then install Imgburn. Then use Imgburn for dvd burning and see if it works.
