DVD Burning causes stuttering

When I was using Nero 6 my DVDShrink video backups played fine on my DVD Player. Now that I've upgraded to Nero 7 I experience stuttering.

The disc plays fine for the first 25 minutes or so, and than starts skipping, aliasing, and stuttering.

Could the Nero 7 upgrade have caused this?

I have had clients report Nero burns stuttering after upgrade to 7. No amount of reinstalls, cleaning of drivers or reinstall of 6 solve problem. Mp3s sound good on computer but when expanded to audio cd there are many skips. The skips are viewable before burn. Is this the same problem?

It can also occur if you inadvertantly shrink the PAL side of a two-sided DVD instead of the NTSC side. More and more originals are being made this way, and you have to read the hub carefully with a magnifying glass to see which is which.

And, as was stated, media can cause this as well as authoring and encoding errors.

I upgraded from 6 to 7 without any problems burning DVD movies. It could just be a configuration issue or maybe your burner's firmware doesn't play nice with Nero 7.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, so why did you go to nero 7 if 6 worked fine 😉 (I'm using 6 and have no trouble)

Went to my Brother-In-Law's last night and took a 'busted' DVD over. It played fine on his DVD player. When I got back home it stuttered on my DVD player :/ Frack, and to think I just bought this Samsung VCR/DVD combo last year.

*SparkyJJO - I absolutely agree, sadly in this situation I had to buy Nero 7 for the ability to download and work with HD video, from my Sony HC3. Considering I had Nero 6 it was only $20 to upgrade to Nero 7. Nero 7 is not making me happy in general, there patching and installation is horrible for, what should be, a very mature Application. Christmas is shaping up to be very expensive.
