snese the 3540a isnt as good as it was expected, should i get 3520a instead i would really like to try and stay aroudn $50. thanks

the will be more firmware development for newer drives and with drives like the pioneer - firmware might stop once theh new drive comes out

BenQ DW1620 = great performance, bitsetting outta teh box (no modified firmware needed), & overspeed burning.
The BenQ DW1640 should be out soon too.

ive been hearing this since the 3500 series.. 3520 not being as good as the 3500 and 3540 being even worse. i do have a 3520 and a 3500 and the older model does have its advantages at least for me. (faster dual layer dvd ripping, lower error rates on dvd-r media, more firmware options etc.)
