I have a Pioneer DVR-105 DVD-RW burner that is on the fritz. I might as well go ahead a replace it, but before I do, I am curious what burner *you* would buy today if you needed one. Cost is not that much of a concern as they are plenty cheap these days.

What I am more curious abotu is whether or not I shoudl consider a DVD+RW burner (rather than replace mine with another DVD-RW burner) or possible one of the Dual-Format units that is effectively DVD+/-RW. If memory serves me right Plextor and Pioneer both make good products. I have always been a huge fan or Lite-On CD burners, but I have no experience with their DVD burners.

What would you buy, i.e. which format and why, and can you recommend a particular model that is solid?

Considered by many to be the best available today.

I would not trust toms for dvd burner reviews rather I would look at cdfreaks and cdrinfo for more information
