Do they make DVD burners that can make discs that can be read in a standalone dvd player or a standard dvd reader? How much are these devices and how much are the discs? Thanks.
 
The Pioneer DVR-A03, it's capable of writing DVDs at 2x and CD-Rs at 8x.....no buffer underrun prevention. All this for the bargain price of about $650 for the drive and $10 for 1 DVD-R disc (if you get them online). My friend actually saw the drive at Best Buy not too long ago going for $800.
