my dvd burner isnt producing quality/working dvds anymore....i can get the movie to play in only some dvd players as i was able to do this with every player in the house. Now on the most trusted player the movie will play but only to play as if someone is hitting the pause button then the play button as the movie goes along. I talked to a friend and he suggest that the lazer wasnt at the correct calibration and was either F-ing up my decryption and/or my burning. I have also just burnt a music cd and it worked fine although i know there is a difference in which the lazer burns dvd as apposed to cd. Any input would be great. thanx

using optorite DD0203
dvd decrypter
instant copy 7

Yeah that's probably the cause of all of your problems.

You should be using a DVD-reader to rip all of your stuff. To do otherwise is both stupid and insane. A good DVD-reader will only cost $20. A good DVD-burner is $100 or so. Which would you rather burn out the motor on? On top of that, it will speed up your ripping/burning process greatly.

In any case, you might as well just buy a new one; they're cheap enough. I personally like the Pioneer A07. If dual layer means anything to you, get one of the new NEC drives; they are cheap as hell.
