DVD burner won't read new game

Bought RE4 for DVD ROM (wanted CD, o well) from amazon. My 8x dvd burner wont read the game. It reads other DVDs. The game will read on my wife's computer. Is this because I have an old DVD burner (about 5 years)?

Is the DVD clean, with no smudges or scratches (especially near the center)?

There are some newer games on dvd that use a special kind of copy protection that is incompatible with some older dvd drives. There is unfortunately nothing i am aware of that can be done except replace the drive.
