DVD Burner Scratching Discs!

Hey guys,

So after burning several DVDs sucessfully, the last 3 have gone slow and ended up not working. Then, when checking for dust, the outer centimeter is scratched/scufffed! Happened on the last 3 DVDs! What's causing this, how to fix it, how to fix the DVDs, will NEC, which the drive maker is, compensate for the damages and/or a new drive? **** this sucks. Thanks in advance,

Update, put in a crappy CD and it did it to it as well, so its done it every time now! What course of action shall i take?

IDK...Are you sure it's not the blank media itself? Living in the desert has me wiping everything off before I insert it.

If the disks themselves aren't warped, then there is either a foreign object in the drive, or the drive itself is going bad.
