DVD burner question

episodic

Lifer
Just got a new burner.

LiteOn 451S

Burned one +R disk - failed data verification in Nero

Burned a new -R disk - failed data verification in Nero.

Upgraded the firmware to the newest official . . .

Burned another new -R disk - failed data verification in Nero. . .

What I am burning is a collection of ISO images.

Is there some problem burning ISO's as files on DVD's I'm not aware of? I'm trying to burn 3 ISO's as files. . .

I've tried the media that comes with the drive, and 2 new media's one verbatim and one maxell 4x -r media.

I've never had a burner. . . any suggestions, this is getting expensive?

Have you tried burning anything else to see if the burner is working, or just the ISO files? You might give this page a look and check your settings for an ISO burn. I searched Google but haven't tried the suggestions listed below so I can't say it will work, but I have read other sites when I had a similar problem. That was a long time ago and I'm not sure if I was having the same problem you are but I do know the tutorial helped.

Thanks,

Let me be clear, I'm not burning the ISO files as images - but as data files.

So I'm burning 2 or 3 ISO's to one Data DVD. . .

Anyone else?

I had that burner when it came out.

That drive is a POS, and for me just like you all it did was burn coasters,I suggest you return it ASAP and get yourself a good & reliable Pioneer drive.

edited for clarity. 😉

WOW! The power of a comma is awesome. You had me looking real hard for a moment.

Update, I've burnt 3 disks full of other data that don't fail verification. I tried to burn these ISO images again (as data files) and they failed verification. I tried to burn a different ISO image as a data file it works. . .

Why won't data verification work on these three ISO's? They are intact on my harddrive in good shape (I've installed from them) . . .

I found out the 451S has an unoffical firmware update to the Lite-On 832 8x burner. I performed the flash, and I'm on my sixth perfect DVD burned at 8x now (it was only a 4x burner). . .

So it worked out . . .
