Hey guys, I just got a really nice DVD burner for my comp, its that plextor serial ATA DL one. I have a bunch of movies on my comp that I've downloaded over the years that I finally wanna burn. The only thing is that they're in AVI format for the most part. I wanna be able to still burn the FULL movie onto a DVD in DVD format, not SVCD. When I try to burn it onto a DVD using Nero 6, it asks me for two files, a AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. How can I get this AVI into those formats? Anyone know a software thats free I could get?

The question here is, do you want to archive these AVI files on DVD or do you want to burn these AVI files to DVD to play on home stand alone DVD player?

another program is no authoring is needed is called dvdSanta. It'll convert the AVI to VOB, then burn with nero.

I use TMPGEnc DVD Author. It's expensive, but worth it if you're looking to create DVD's from divx, mpg or avi.

EDIT:

Doh...just remembered that I use TMPGEnc Pro to convert AVI's to a DVD compatible format. It may not be the dream method, but it works great.
