dvd burner issues I need help

Here's the message I got after trying to burn a cd
wmp cannot burn the files, if the burner is busy, wait for the current task to finish.
If necessary, verify that the burner is connected properly and that you have installed the latest device driver.

Does this shit make sense to anyone? It reads my games just fine but it won't burn a cd for shit. If it didn't have the right driver then it wouldn't even play a game right? This shit is driving me nuts.
I don't know if the burner is just a turd and done for or what.

I've tried with memorex and fujifilm CDs and neither will burn correctly: I have 2 blank CDs left that's it and I don't want to make frisbee from them either. Do you think the burner is just bad??

I dont know what to do here, im just making frisbees lol, if the burner is bad then oh well I will get a new one, i just dont know why it will play my pc games with the disc in the drive but it wont burn a damn audio cd at all.

It is a ide drive and I know my next one will be sata for sure, i cant find a way to fix this bur yet again if its broke then its broke lol

id appreciate any and all help guys, I have to order some headphones,and a case fan from newegg today anyways so if its the drive then i'll just buy a new one and some more cds sheesh, i bet i made about 6 frisbees today, i only have 3 good cds left. Ive used fujifilm and memorex cdr cds and ive never had a problem with them in the past.

I got this dvd burner in a trade on hard forum just last week and i just now tried to burn a cd so if its the burner please let me know so I can contact the person i traded with.

I have installed the latest driver for the drive also, i am just toally stumped right now
