I have a NEC 3500A DVD burner coming tomarrow and just have one question. Should I hook it up as a slave on the HD IDE cable or hook it up as master on IDE cable 2 all by itself?

i put mine on the secondary ide spot all by itself but i dont think it matters, its just more convenient and looks better since i bought sound IDE cables w/ jus one master end to connect

I had read somewear that a burner should be on the same cable as the HD. Just getting oppions here.

if anything, it should be by itself. both drives don't have to share the bandwidth.
