dvd burned on windows 98 system

This is a dvd-r with small data files on it, total size is over 4 gigabytes. It was burned on a windows 98 machine with Nero, the drive is a LiteOn 811s. It seems windows 98 has no problem seeing the disk as valid media. My standalone dvd player can read the pix and mpgs.

Why would this happen? TIA

Don't know, must be something specific to DVD's. I use nero and win98se to burn cd's on my Lite-on for my dad who is on winXP.

im not trying to be a jerk or anything, but does the 2k or xp systems have dvd-rom drives?
if they do have you updated the firmware on the dvd-rom drives?
