I'm archiving my DVD collection. Many of the discs are single-layer discs that will easily fit onto a DVDR without reencoding or removing content. I would like to tweak some of the annoying features of my movies by disabling forced trailers, unlocking restricted functions (like "skip" or "next"), and removing forced clips (like the FBI warning).
DVD Shrink will automatically unlock restricted functions. Does this break functionality for any DVD features?
DVD Shrink DOES NOT allow me to replace the FBI warning with a blank 0 second clip. Why won't it let me simply delete a scene? How hard could it be for DVD shrink to automatically skip to the menu/clip that would normally come after the deleted clip? I don't want to break other functions of my disc, but using DVD Shrink in reauthoring mode won't even allow me to keep menus. What is the best way to remove an FBI warning screen? There is no reason why I should be forced to see this each time I watch the same movie. There is also no good reason to force me to watch it for a specified amount of time (the skip function is disabled).
Forcing me to watch trailers and advertisements is ridiculous. Some movies won't allow me to skip *OR FAST-FORWARD* through the ads. Sometimes, I don't have the extra 15-20 minutes to spare. I don't want to delete the content if it will fit on the backup. I would rather access movie trailers through the main menu. How can I create a backup that will bypass the trailers without deleting them?
