DVD backup gets cut off at end

I'm trying to backup 2 of my dvds. However once they get near the end the movie cuts off. I have tried to slow down the burning speed to 2x and i can't try 1x because the dvd-r don't support it. One of the dvds i'm trying to back up is a single layer and the other was a dual. They both did the same thing when i tried to play them. Anybody have any ideas what might be happening here?
