DVD Authoring/Burning App?

What software should I use so I can take a video file, chop off some empty sections because I recorded too long and then burn it to a DVD?

Not looking for anything fancy, just simple. I'm not really worried about price 😉 😛

Mods: I put this in OT so I can get an answer quickly

I've yet to do any IFO encoding, but as far as encoding the MPEG files that become IFOs I'd suggest TMPGEnc. (google it) Trial version has 30 days of MPEG-2 encoding, then you have to pay a whopping $30 for the full version.

DVDs can also handle VCD resolution stuff (though higher bitrate if you want) which can be done by the trial version of TMPGEnc without limit. You'll have to encode the audio at 48000Hz though, but that can be done with TMPGEnc.

Also, get BeSweet if you want to do nice-sounding audio. You can find it at doom9.org

Check out Videohelp.com for lots more info on DVDs.

Oh yeah, if you have Nero you can just drag n' drop MPEG-1/2 files and it'll make the DVD for you. It won't encode stuff unless you pay for the encoder however.
