DVD Audio ripping

Did a search on this and didn't find anything...

What program will allow you to rip the audio off a dvd and convert it to mp3?

 
just load it into a dvd software player and open up the wav recorder that is under start --> programs --> accesories --> entertainment. hit record and then save, there is your wav file. then convert that bitch to mp3 style with your favorite prog and your set.

Depending on your hardware, this method usually isn't very high quality at all.

I have ripped DVD audio before, but it isn't easy. And it still didn't sound perfect. It's a pain, you have to deal with chapters and stuff, and the music may not match up with the chapters. Look around on Kazaa or whatever first - maybe somebody already went through the trouble.
 
im pretty sure dvd decrypter will allow you to rip the audio track to an ac3 and then use besweet, or headache to convert to mp3

Set your recording device to "What U Hear" in your sound settings, then open soundforge or cooledit or something similar, play your dvd, hit record...voila it's a WAV file. Save as MP3.
 
There are easier ways of doing it, but I've done it once with an Oasis DVD. I ripped the chapter with Smartripper, and I started encoding it with DVD2SVCD to get the .wav file (making sure the enabled the setting not to delete any files, because it immediately starts to overwrite the .wav to .mp2 otherwise). Then I used some command-line prog (I forgot the name, but you can get it from doom9.org) to convert the audio from 24-bit/96kHz to 16-bit/44.1kHz. Then encoded to MP3 with EAC/LAME, and MP3Gain to raise the gain to a listenable level.

EDIT: I don't know about Dolby Digital tracks, I did it with PCM. But I assume the audio prog in DVD2SVCD converts it for you.

Don't do that, you'll get crappy quality if you do it that way.
