DVD AUDIO, need new software or hardware???

Dvd audio starts to pop up at some stores now. I wonder if we could use our regular dvdrom to play the dvd audio music. Do we need any software or must we buy new dvdrom that can handle that type of 24 or 32 bit audio format.
