I'm debating on whether or not to get a DVD/CD-RW combo drive, I'm looking at the AOpen Chameleon, or if I should get 2 separate drives... what are your opinions, and any suggestions on which brand and model to get.

Thanks,
Ian

Two drives are only really useful when they have the same capability - then you can copy material from one drive to another. I would shoot for two combos!

Since they're under $100, why not get a DVD+/-RW drive? Or even a pair of them. Picked up the 8X dual-layer NEC 2510A and it's pretty decent at both CD-R and DVD-R writing.

Another computer I use a lot has a DVD-R drive already, and I have abundant access to it.
