i started my fist dv capture today. i was under the impression that you could capture video faster than real time, but i can't find a way to do that. was i under the wrong impression? thanks..

I'm pretty sure you can capture faster than real time. Final Cut batches and captures pretty quickly, not sure about premiere. I used premiere for a Digital video project and liked it a hell of a lot better than final cut.

I'm pretty sure there are no mainstream camcorders that will let you capture at faster than playback speed. Check out the DV forum on the DVDRHelp.com site.

my canon gl2 isn't exactly mainstream so hopefully there is a way. thanks for the pointer
